Keep Calm and Have Some Tea

Since visiting London, I’ve become accustomed to the art of afternoon tea. I never thought to add milk to tea, and wow is it a game changer. Tiny sandwiches and scones with clotted cream and jam made me feel so fancy and posh.
Visiting the various markets in the city has also allowed me to expand my palate to so many countries in one place. So many different aromas and the meals looked absolutely gorgeous even though most of them came from food stalls.
A Salt Beef Beigel was something I read I definitely needed to try. How can you go wrong with brisket? I went to Beigel Bake (the white one) and there was a line out the door. I got my sandwich and it cost about £4.50 for a mouth-watering piece of heaven. They went heavy on the pickles so they’re in my good book forever.
I’m not the biggest Starbucks coffee fan, but I love me a good chai latte. My love for chai lattes began in Prague. Same deal here. I had at least one per day, sometimes two. Pret is my new favorite coffee chain and I wish they would build one closer to me.
The snacks in London were also something an interesting find. So many different flavors of Lays (or Walkers as they call them here) and the aisle just of tea is massive. I tried a Terry’s chocolate orange, and I was shocked how much it tasted like an actual orange – not artificial flavor orange. It wasn’t such an overpowering flavor either, and the chocolate wasn’t overly sweet. Good job, Terry’s.
