Stay Home and Travel

It’s been a tough few weeks, stir craziness is settling in and it’s getting difficult to find ways to fill the time. Here are some more ways to see the world from the comfort and safety of your own home. I hope everyone is doing well and stays healthy.

All information is correct as of April 19th, 2020 and can be subject to change at any time. For the online performances, dates in parentheses indicate original date of performance. Take a trip around the world without leaving your couch

The Royal Opera House in London

Live streamed via their Facebook page and their YouTube channel, catch a different production every Friday night, as well as behind the scenes action you can’t find anywhere else!

Watch the Northern Lights

A live stream set up at the Churchill Northern Studies Center in Manitoba, Canada, and this time of year is ideal to see the sky light up with beautiful colors. Between 10 PM and 4 am EDT are the best times to see the lights, as it’s the darkest time of the night.

Weekly Productions

  • The Show Must Go On!
    • Every Friday night at 7 PM BST (2 PM EDT), a different Andrew Lloyd Weber production will be available for viewing on YouTube for 48 hours.
  • National Theatre of London Home
    • Every Thursday night at 7 PM BST, catch a fantastic world-class show online.

Visit hotels around the world

Sure, traveling is off the table right now, but why can’t you still enjoy a nice view from a cool hotel?

Be Dazzled by Cirque Du Soleil

For an hour, be amazed at the lights, the music, the acrobatics. Lose yourself in the show and just enjoy.

Visit Japan!

The Japanese tourism board created a 360-degree VR tour of the country, and there’s so many virtual tours of the country where you can really get up close and see everything. If that’s not enough to make it your next destination, I don’t know what will.

US National Parks

As of writing this post, 32 US national parks have made it possible to visit online and see the beauty of nature. Maybe a few will make it on the itinerary of your next vacation?

The Met Opera

The Met offers online videos of past performances, with a new show viewing every night at 7:30 PM EDT and will be available online for 20 hours following the premiere.
